life on the edge exhibit

An estuary is where forest meets water and river meets sea. It is a place of transition that many critters (and humans) rely on to thrive . The JCNERR is situated within one of the most pristine areas of the northeastern U.S. and is dedicated to protecting its 115,000 acres, including the Mullica River-Great Bay estuary. Engage all of your senses and immerse yourself into life on the edge.

Our interactive exhibit, located at the Tuckerton Seaport in Tuckerton, N.J., takes students through a deep dive into what estuaries are, what critters call it home, the many benefits they provide, & what we can do to protect them! Our large facility includes multiple exhibit displays (all with interactive components), theater, and a craft/activity station. Students can be taken through a guided tour of the exhibit, and varying activities, demonstrations, crafts, etc. covering an estuarine or coastal topic can be added.
