PARTNERSHIP AMONG ENVIRONMENTAL & SCIENCE LEADERS

The Barnegat Bay Watershed Experience is an initiative of the Barnegat Bay Partnership, Pinelands Preservation Alliance, and the partners listed here. We have come together to create this information hub to help educators and community leaders find guided outdoor and school-based programs for their students and participants in the Barnegat Bay Watershed.

Each of the organizations offers great outdoor learning and adventure opportunities for young people and the general public.

The Barnegat Bay Partnership is a partnership of federal, state, municipal, academic, business, and private organizations working together to help restore, protect, and enhance the natural resources of the Barnegat Bay ecosystem.

Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) is a nonprofit environmental organization devoted to protecting and helping the public enjoy the unique resources of the Pinelands National Reserve. PPA’s Pinelands Adventures is a recreational outfitter and nature education program that helps people of all ages and abilities to explore and come to cherish the Pinelands. PPA is coordinating the Barnegat Bay Watershed Experience initiative.

Ocean County Parks & Recreation is a department of the County government that manages more than 4,000 acres of parkland in 27 public parks. Its many parks offer a wide range of programs for the public and for schools and community organizations throughout the County and Watershed.

Ocean County Soil Conservation District is a program of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture that advances planning and implementation of natural resource management programs for the development of communities, agriculture, and the general public through a locally based delivery system in coordination with local, state and federal partners.

Pinelands Institute at Whitesbog Village provides educational programs in ecology and cultural history on the New Jersey Pine Barrens and Whitesbog Historic Village.

The Pinelands Commission offers free, educational programs at the agency’s headquarters, in-class programs as well as tailored programs in the Pinelands for schools and groups.
