Come explore the estuary of the Barnegat Bay and see what lives beneath the water’s surface. Students will kayak through the area where salt and fresh water mix, seeing wading birds, marsh grasses, and colonies of fiddler crabs. Along the way, the group will stop to pull a seine net and check the water chemistry. Students will learn about the amazing creatures that can withstand the daily changes in salinity, temperature, and tides in order to call this continuously variable habitat home.
