Students will investigate the three ecosystems (upland forest, salt marsh, bay beach) at Cattus Island County Park. This program encourages students to use observation skills while measuring habitat components from the different ecosystems. They will be able to explain the components of each ecosystem and compare and contrast the differences and similarities. Older students (4th grade and up) will participate in a seining activity on Silver Bay for estuary creatures, while younger students will observe a seining demonstration.
This program is available April 1-Oct 15 and is offered free for Ocean County schools and organizations only.
